Hi, sorry to bother you but I am looking for an obituary for Walt Lutz for a friend and cannot locate one anywhere. I think he was connected to your organization. The friend who would like the obituary is Walter Weaver, Jr. from Malvern, Pa. who knew Walt Lutz from Great Valley High School and knew the family from Great Valley Presbyterian Church. I have already tried my other usual sources but can’t turn anything up. Thank you for any help you can offer. Nancy Caruthers Karns

      • Hi,
Walt’s Obiturary was posted in the Press Enterprise newspaper, Bloomsburg PA. You may be able to get it from them.
The funeral home that did the funeral arrangements may also have a copy, McMichael and Rarigh Funeral Home Inc, 119-121 E 3rd St Berwick PA 570-752-3639

  2. I am interested in joining the Youth Rotary Club in Berwick.

    • Hello Brenton,

Thanks for you interest in Rotary. You have reached the Berwick Club in Pennsylvania USA. I believe you may want to get in touch with the club in Berwick Australia instead. You can find a contact for the Australian club at: http://www.rotaryberwick.org/

The best way to learn about Rotary is to visit a club meeting and see what it is all about.

Let me know if this helps.

  5. I know, as a service club volunteer, how difficult it can be to find an interesting speaker with a fresh topic for your Rotary Club meetings. Let me suggest a speaker from our agency to discuss and answer questions about Pennsylvania’s casino gaming industry, and how legalized casino gaming is impacting all Pennsylvanians in one manner or another.

Topics will include a look at the amount of gaming tax revenue being produced and how that revenue is being spent; how gaming revenue is being used for property tax reduction or wage tax reduction; where casinos are located and where some still may be located; jobs and offshoot business from casinos; some history about the Gaming Control Board and its role in protecting the public’s interests; and, facts about crime and problem gambling in the wake of this new industry.

I have had the unique opportunity to personally speak to service clubs over the past several years and have been told that our presentation was one of the most informative discussions they have had in years! I’d love to do the same for your club.

To submit your request for a speaker, go to this link http://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/?p=111. We do ask that you try to make your request at least 30 days prior to a date when you would like a speaker, though we will make every attempt to accommodate your schedule if that period is shorter.
